Forgiveness

To be forgiven means God erases the person's guilt of sin.

The Bible states: "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18)

Forgiveness can only come from God, Himself. It is available as a result of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The person must realize that God has said, "All have sinned." He has also said, "The wages of sin is death." He has also said, "Whosoever cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out."

These are statements that no person can ignore. To recognize the TRUTH of God's statements and to realize one's own sinfulness before God, is to recognize the need for God to provide a way to have sin forgiven. God has provided a way. It is through Jesus Christ.
